The Raven City:
Main Campaign
The main campaign: an episodic, ongoing story with a pool of regular players.

2 drop-in spots available every session for new players to try out the game.

Adults, and kids in school year 9 or above.
New Players
If you've never played in our library games before, please come as a drop-in player. You are welcome to any regular "The Raven City" session. Please come as a drop-in rather than booking a space.
You must be an adult, or a child in year 9 or above. There are TWO spots available on a first come, first served basis. You will be provided with a premade character, pencil, and dice.

PLEASE NOTE:
Drop-in players MUST play a premade character provided by the Dungeon Master.

Become a Regular Player
If you have played in a session already as a drop-in and you wish to keep playing, you may request to be a regular player. This will allow you to book onto game sessions to reserve a spot and you may play your own character (subject to Dungeon Master approval). See Character Creation Rules for further information.

PLEASE NOTE: Once you are a regular player, please do not arrive as a drop-in. Those spots are for new players only.
1. Character Creation
Create a character and ensure they comply with the Character Creation Rules.

If you're totally new to creating a character, try checking out the Resources page, or come along at the end of a session to chat.

PLEASE NOTE: The Dungeon Master is the final arbiter of the rules. If they deny your character, it's only because it won't be a good fit for this particular game.
2. Character Approval
Once you have a character, submit them for approval by the Dungeon Master.
This is so we can double-check that the character is compliant with the rules and will be a good fit for the campaign.

PLEASE NOTE: The Dungeon Master is the final arbiter of the rules. If they deny your character, it's only because it won't be a good fit for this particular game.
3. Book Session
If your character is approved, you can book onto any Raven City session.

The DM is the final arbiter of the rules and the players.

PLEASE NOTE: bookings are subject to approval by the Dungeon Master.

Given that spaces are limited, please ensure you are able to attend a session prior to booking.
Book Your Space
Once you have been accepted as a regular player, you may sign up to any Raven City campaign session.

Because we have such a large pool of regular players, booking is via a waitlist.

-
At the end of each month, a new set of available dates will go up on the website.
-
If you are available to play, book onto the waitlist by 23:59 on the Friday of the previous week.
-
A week before the session (by 23:59 on the Sunday of the previous week), the six chosen players will be selected from the pool of available players and notified.
-
Who gets to play is based on who is available, who has played recently, and which players work well together.
-
If someone then subsequently drops out due to unforeseen circumstances, another player will then be selected from the waitlist and notified.
